Kelly has had line placements twice, she’s had a stem cell collection procedure. She has had 4 rounds of chemo with 4 more to go, the last two being very hard with a long stay and surgery to come soon. Radiation is after that for a month and more therapy for 5 months with week stays once a month.⠀ ⠀ This has been hard on us but we are getting through it. I quit my job as a teacher to take care of Kelly full time. Dad is a big help when he is not working. Our dog is staying with grandparents and comes to see us every so often. We moved to Nashville away from most of our family and friends 4 years ago. It has been difficult trying to get through most weeks on our own. Family comes in town as much as the possibly can.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Hope session by @crystalfreemonphotography⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #thegoldhopeproject #childhoodcancerawareness #curechildhoodcancer #gogold #gogoldforchildhoodcancer #kidsgetcancertoo ⠀ #morethan4 #fightlikeakid #leukemiaawareness #pediatriccancer #childhoodcancer #dosomethinggood #bethechange #nonprofitlife #hope #neverevergiveup #cancersucks #beatcancer #noonefightsalone #kickcancersbutt #cancerwarrior #cancersupport #nonprofitorganzation #braincancer #baldisbeautiful #neuroblastoma⠀

Everyday, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer. Of those 43, 9 are diagnosed with a brain tumor. Though the numbers are staggering, only 4% of funding is dedicated to pediatric cancer research.⠀ We are fighting for every child, every tumor, every family.⠀ ⠀ Progress is being made through this life saving research that you are contributing to with your donations, a gift that we cannot adequately express our gratitude for. ⠀ ⠀ You’re fighting for a cure right along with these incredible, strong children.⠀ ⠀ If you have donated, a huge THANK YOU! If you haven’t given yet, there is still time! We welcome your donation with open arms and so will the patients this funding is for!⠀ ⠀ Donate now!

I am a single mom and working is hard with a child with cancer but we make it. She is not afraid to tell anyone she has cancer! If she sees anyone looking at her for more than a few seconds she will speak up and say hello I’m Tisa and I have cancer. I have a cousin who has two children who are survivors of brain cancer. I had always told her I understand how you feel. Being a nurse and my dad passing away with cancer I thought I did! I definitely received a very big eye opener when Tisa was diagnosed. Even if you are there up front and center you still never know what it really feels like unless it’s your child.
